An enjoyable if rainy day in Exeter where I was honoured to officiate at this prestigous show where I had judged golden retrievers many years ago. Thanks must go to the excellent Committee, my exemplary stewards Clare Hill and Debbie Stansbury and of course most thanks must go to the exhibitors who afforded me the privilege of assessing their quality dogs.

1^st	Hughes ABACOT INTO THE UNKNOWN JW D Masculine lad with no coarseness, good condition and muscling, looked as if he could work all day from his effortless strides. Correct depth of brisket and forechest, good double coat
2^nd	Phelps REDFOXTOR BLYSTRA BAY B A sweetie with a keen eye and cheeky character. Compact and correctly balanced, moved keenly and with ease.
3^rd	Palfrey EUSANIT WILD ATLANTIC WAY

1^st	Hipkiss AFONBACH FIRST SIGN O' SPRING AT DELTANDAMBA JW B BEST OF BREED The complete girl, she exuded breed type, correctly ribbed back with stong, short loin, beautifully balanced with confident, controlled, keen movement with correct tail carriage. Quality, balanced head and gentle eye.
2^nd	Ward MELANITTA PALMATA JW D RBOB Handsome lad, also full of quality and breed type, just preferred strength of hind movement of first. Head so typical and balanced, with a correct width of skull, lovely expression.
3^rd	Hughes EUSANIT GEM STONE AT ABACOT

1^st	Hughes EUSANIT CUT AND RUN AT ABACOT B Outstanding toller with the most intelligent, kindly eye and excellent shape to her head. Such good symmetry, everything flowed into everything else, gleaming double coat on good muscling, moved out purposefully.
