I thoroughly enjoyed judging this breed again. Type was a little varied and some exhibits were a little lacking in substance and bone. Some of the rear movement was also a little closer than I would like. I was extremely pleased with my top winners and had no idea until I filled out the cards afterwards that they were all bred by the same kennel.

Good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep chest with elbows close to brisket and well ribbed back. Short loin. Powerful, well muscled hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Movement was accurate both fore and aft. In profile he showed an excellent side gait really driving from the rear. Despite three different handlers throughout the day he was totally unfazed. In the challenge he just seemed to lack his earlier enthusiasm and didn't move with the same drive and sadly had to pay the price. |
