Sunday 2nd September 2018 City of Birmingham - Mrs Vivien Phillips (Debucher)

2nd Veteran Dog

Another 7 year old with a nice head and correct ears and eye shape. Little short in upper arm. Tight feet. Well let down and strongly ribbed. Good topline. Moved with sufficient drive, not as steady in front coming towards me as the winner. Both were in super conditon for their age.

2nd Open Dog

Lots to like with this 5 year old boy. He is not as showy as some of the youngsters but an excellent type, you can almost imagine the duck in his mouth. Wedge shaped head with correct moderate stop, well angulated front and rear, pleases in profile and moved out so soundly for Reserve Best Dog. So nice to see a dog showcasing the breed's versatility with his Rally title.

I liked this dog the last time that I judged him, & I still do. When standing & moving he shows the true points of the breed. His front & rear angulations are good, resulting in fluid, but springy movement with the traditional curved waving tail. Masculine head, wedge shaped with high set neat ears & alert expression. Body well made, topline level & excellent feet. BD.

Young male, built on taller and finer lines of 1. Really outgoing temperament, has a balanced head with moderate stop, good ear shape, reachy neck, level topline. Will no doubt continue to develop in body as he matures. Thought his feet could be a shade tighter. Has a moderate bend of stifle, not quite as positive on the move as the winner.
