Lovely Dog of excellent shape and size, different type to 1 & 2. Good head and lovely expressions with correct almond shaped eyes, good front and deep well sprung rib, correct top line, good coat, strong loin and well angled behind, correct tail carriage both stood naturally and on the move, just a tad wayward going away and on the return today, but showed enough about him to merit his high place in this super class.

Unexaggerated, clean outline and completely balanced all through. Very good head and expression, clean neck into well placed shoulder, very clean lines all through, good width and depth to brisket, elbows could be closer to chest, strong loin, moderate turn of stifle, neat tight feet and short nails, moved and shown to perfection.

A different type to 1, well angulated front and rear assemblies and is of good balance, he displayed excellent reach and drive, and impressed on his ground covering action. However, I just preferred the more compact profile and proportions of the winner.

1st Limit Dog

A dog of 4 years of age looking very mature. Of excellent quality in all areas. A very balanced and typical example of the breed. Excellent head and expression with lovely eye of correct shape and colour. Ears at times were not correctly held almost as if the dog had been distracted BUT when it mattered they were correctly held. Correct, clean and complete dentition. The strongest of necks into textbook forehand assembly. Very good width and depth to chest. Well sprung ribs with strong loin. Very good and unexaggerated hindquarters with good width of second thigh. Quality bone and excellent feet with the shortest of nails. Moved accurately both fore, aft and in side profile, showing good forward reach and drive from the rear and maintaining topline at all times – in the challenge for best in show, my deciding factor was that on the day, I felt that he was carrying just of fraction too much weight over his shoulders which slightly detracted an otherwise unblemished outline. Reserve Best In Show & Best Opposite Sex.

Saturday 29th June 2019 Windsor (CC) - Mr Richard Morris (Lascoed)

1st Limit Dog

Three and a half years, a typical dog of quality delightful head and expression with good length of muzzle pleasing to find, strong under-jaw and correct stop though tended to fly his ears a bit on the day, wide, full pink nostrils. Coat of correct texture and length lying well, strongly bone, tight, compact, well arched feet, strong hindquarters with good second thigh development. Well sprung ribcage firm across the loins a positive sound mover holding his topline well.

Not judged him before but I loved him. Ex overall balance. True head shape with clean cut skull, flat cheeks and moderate stop. Good layback of shoulder and corresponding return of upper arm. Deep chest with elbows close to brisket and well ribbed back. Short loin. Powerful, well muscled hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Movement was accurate both fore and aft. In profile he showed an excellent side gait really driving from the rear. Despite three different handlers throughout the day he was totally unfazed. CC and BOB

1st Post Graduate Dog

Very impressive dog who excels on the move with that impression of power called for in the standard. I liked his head with its correct wedge shape and kind eye that gave him a masculine expression. Strong through the neck which led in to a well assembled front, stood on good legs and tidy feet. Still needs to drop in to his chest but will do that as he matures. Body of good proportions, ribs well sprung a has a firm loin, level topline which he held throughout. Well developed quarters with stifles well bent. Sound on the move, a tad untidy in front at the moment but that should improve as he drop in to his front. Thought he was a smart dog with bags of potential, delighted to award him Reserve Best Dog.

1st Junior Dog

Several months ago I gave this young man 4th in Puppy Gundog group at a Championship show today I could see how he has retained, improved and matured into a Junior of true breed type, of correct size and is moderately built. Clean cut wedge shaped head, nice stop, flat cheeks. Almond shaped dark kind eyes, well set and feathered dropped ears. Muscular clean neck flowing into well laid shoulders short level firm back to well set feathered and flagged tail with tip. To be critical would like little more angulation to forequarters, elbows in on well boned straight well balanced legs and tight round webbed feet. Good depth of body well sprung ribs super straight rich red coat good under coat and texture. Good rear quarters strong hocks very positive sound mover little close at foot with good drive and reach. A youngster with a future, well handled.
