Lots to like on the darker red dog who is coming up 3 years of age. He has a lovely flow to his outline. He is solid and masculine but in no way overdone, being of a nice size and with good overall proportions. Liked his head, clean cut, with the right amount of strength to the backsull, well placed ears, and toning almond eyes giving an adoring expression. Clean and straight forelegs of good bone onto tight feet. Well developed forechest and depth to the brisket. Held a firm topline both stood and moving. Good hindquarters, with a nice bend to the stifle. Moved with reach and drive. One I considered for the top awards.

This was a very close decision between 2 and 3, balanced throughout, in good coat, moved well.

A 4yr dog presenting a pleasing outline, well muscled and lovely to go over. Masculine head with well set ears and very attentive to his handler. Super forequarters with well laid shoulders, return of upper arm, straight front and neat round feet. Deep ribs well sprung through to a muscular loin and a well angled rear. Level topline to a well set tail. A true mover with reach and drive and a well carried tail.

A well put together dog who excels in type. Pleasing wedge shaped head and strong neck. Well ribbed back, free moving and holds his topline, would just prefer slightly more length of leg. (RBD)

2yo dog, another on the smaller end of the standard. Absolutely loved this boy’s head and ear set. Very well balanced with good angulation front and rear. Held his topline well on the move but not quite the substance or power of 1, which will hopefully come with maturity.
Sunday 20th August 2023 Welsh Kennel Club (CC) - Mr Julien Barney (Romaunt)

A slightly smaller dog and slightly longer in the loin. Good rich colour and correct pigmentation. I preferred the head and eye, ear set and size. Well made front construction with a good lay of shoulder into a good depth of brisket. Moved well enough.

Darker brother very nice head piece, with good eye, nose, bite and neat ear, would have like a little more angulation to the forehand, good through the body with decent ribs, loin, topline, tailset and carriage. A sound mover on good legs an feet, in good coat & furnishings.

Rising two years most pleasing balanced head and friendly expression stop and muzzle correctly shaped attractive eye colour set and shape. Stifles turned well white feet well sprung ribcage and firm topline I would prefer a tad more length of leg on show. Sound on the move but tending close in front on the day in my opinion. Notable coat presentation strong bone firm feet.

Really liked the overall make of this dog, he is clearly masculine, but not over done in any way, he is just so correct for his 23 months and in excellent condition, I like his over all proportions, very nice head with a good skull and ears nicely framing his friendly and alert expression, good set and carriage of neck, nicely angulated front and rear, straight front, strong pasterns and tight round feet, well sprung rib and close fitting elbow, strong loin, hocks well let down, he moved with the impression of power.

Balanced structure with strong angulation in both the front and rear assembly. His body lines are clean, emphasizing a well-proportioned neck and a level topline. On the move, he displays a powerful and ground-covering stride.

Smaller, darker boy of a slightly different type to my preference but still of course correct. Preferred the finish on 1's head at present as this youngster still needs time to complete the picture. He moved well, covering the ground with ease with a lovely profile movement where he won over 3 at present.

So much to like, another dog to watch. Smaller build than 1, sporting an alert expression and good head, set on a moderate length strong neck leading into well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest and spring of rib, good angles, well balanced, A well-constructed dog but 1st moved with a bit more spark today.

Stood alone but what a promising puppy, rich in colour, plenty of coat and furnishings and with plenty of bone and substance to grow in to. Very nice head with good length of muzzle and good width between the ears, ample forechest, shoulders well laid back, good length of back and sloping croup into a strong tail set on correctly and carried at a nice wave on the move. I like puppies to carry a touch extra weight but I wouldn't have any more on him as it can sometimes give him a saggy topline.
