Very similar attributes to 1 in many ways, Correct head, expression, Straight forearms and really nice profile movement, a little untidy coming to, this could be to floor. Nice rear angles and drive from the rear. Could swap places with one easily on a different day.

A super example of the breed from any angle. He is handled to an absolute advantage for everyone to see his virtues. Well made throughout, his correct construction shows in his correct and fluent movement. Pleased to see the desired white tip to the tail missing on so many of his contemporaries

So many things I could say about this lovely exhibit. A wonderful example of the breed, whom I have admired before. He has matured well and took my eye upon entering the ring. Excellent wedge-shaped head, leading into a good length of neck and well placed shoulders. Good level topline and correct tailset. Moved with ease, almost gliding around the ring. A pleasure to judge again now fully mature. BOB

Another superb quality male of excellent construction and balance. Scores highly in head with all the typical proportions and shape and kind expression. Stands true front and back. Struggled with the shiny floor at points but moved so soundly once he got going. Presents good balance and shape in online. Well sprung ribs and firm in topline with excellent tailset. Shown in super condition; excellent coat and furnishings with correctly placed characteristic white markings.

This in a lot of ways was a very close decision between 2 quality examples of the breed. I very much like is well proportioned head. He has good balanced fore and hind quarters angulation with a nice bend of stifle. He is a very good overall shape with a good depth and length of rib. He moves well with a good solid topline. In the class his coat gave him the edge against the second, BOB. Later I had the pleasure of awarding him Group 1

5 years a medium sided dog, compact and balanced all round. Has a strong head and jaw with almond shaped eye, darker than 1, alert and kind expression. Deep chest and medium neck, well muscled, an excellent double coat, rich colour with lots of feathering, presented neatly. In profile has a jaunty confident movement with good reach, his fabulous tail used well making him stand out in the class. He has a great partnership with his handler, and clearly enjoys his showing.

d BOB a handsome male with a super rich red coat and presented in muscled condition, very good head and expression helped by well set well used ears, clean neck of good length into well laid shoulders, straight forelegs and strong pasterns, he is perhaps a touch long in body for perfect balance but there is no compromise in topline or strength in his hindquarters , very sound and active with the correct jaunty movement and good tail carriage. Pleased to award him BOB today.

At first glance I thought this was to be my winner. Excellent to go over with so much to admire with many correct breed points. They are all there for you to see but unfortunately he simple was not happy on the surface so had to pay the penalty; such a pity!

This 5-year-old dog is what I was looking for. Very flashy boy that was not style over substance, because that was apparent also. No coarseness to slight wedged skull that was lovely and rounded at back. Only moderate stop which was desirable. Large lighter coloured nostrils. Alertness to almond-shaped eyes. Ears sat well back on skull that were well feathered at back of fold. Welled muscled neck into well-defined lay back of shoulders. Muscling was very pleasing throughout. Deep in chest and ribs well sprung. Good width over croup and to both upper and second thigh. Loved the angulation at stifle. Moved so well with strong rear drive. Purposeful white tipped tail and head carriage on the move. Displayed in super coat. BOB.

Pleasing happy expression, almond shaped eye. Great depth of chest, well angled fore and aft, with good musculature. Strong and correct length of loin, with level top-line. Best mover in class. Moved with purpose around the ring, holding himself up nicely, with a great tail carriage. Overall a great outline, good size and in-proportion. Had a beautiful thick coat and great white tipped tail. Pleased to award BOB.

Another compact and perfectly proportioned male with a masculine head, good ear set and alert eyes. Good deep chest with well sprung ribs. Well-muscled throughout. Not as sound as first on the move, which was probably due to the extreme heat, as I know he usually moves much better.

4yr old dog. I’ve watched this boy come through the ranks, he has a male head, something that some males are lacking recently and I was pleased that all my winners exhibited good male heads. Ears are well set, strong muscled neck leads to well laid back shoulders, good depth of chest, elbows close to the body. Good spring to the ribs and a moderate tuck up. Strong hind quarters and well let down hocks rounded out the picture this dog makes. Unfortunately his coat was not at it’s best today. Well handled RBOB.

1st Open Dog

This dog just ticks all the boxes for me. Fully mature and today shown in good coat and condition were the icing on the cake to happily award him Best Dog and Best of Breed. Correct for type and size, everything in proportion. Broad head with the correct taper to the muzzle and wedge in the skull. Almond eyes set well apart and triangular ears set high and well back on the skull. Straight bone when viewed from the front and tight, round feet, with good laid back of shoulder and return of upper arm. Topline held strong and short through the back. Tail set on with slight slope to the croup and a lovely curve over when alert and moving. Stifles are well bent showing good angulation to match the front, he owned the ring on the move giving the impression of power, springy, jaunty movement.

2nd AV Champion Dog Or Bitch (Judge: Mrs Carole Coode (Warringah))

4 year old, good balanced outline, most pleasing masculine head, excellent eye and nose, not the forehand of 1, well made through the ribs, loin, topline, super rear with good muscles to 1st & 2nd thigh, moved out well on good legs and feet, in magnificent coat.

Already critiqued in the AV open class but I'll add, it would have been criminal not to give this boy BIS here today. He thoroughly deserved it. I heard afterwards that he’d got his title at Manchester Champ show? I'm really not surprised. A worthy champion.

A well sized dog showing off the breed type without exaggeration. Skull broad and well proportioned in length, with well set ears of correct size and shape accentuating an intense expression. Strong neck leading into a solid parallel forehand with correct angulation. Well ribbed chest, depth reaching to elbow and level topline maintained on the move. Angulation in rear balancing that of front, hindquarters well muscled to give good forward power. Straight on the move with correct tail carriage and good drive and reach. BOB

NSDTR with a textbook front – shoulders well back and super return of upperarm. Level topline, good rear. He is so balanced. My notes says "moved very accurately" and I've underlined "very"!! He didn't put a foot wrong. In lovely condition.

2nd Open Dog Or Bitch

2 year old male, of good size and proportions, longer cast than 1, but still a lovely example of the breed. So close up to first and another with an excellent classic head. I preferred his rear assembly , and he is very well balanced, just not as tidy in front movement as the winner and a little closer behind on the out and back. Well handled and presented in excellent hard condition, in good coat of correct texture. Good depth of chest and spring of rib, with elbows well tucked in to body. Nothing is overdone or exaggerated here, unlucky to meet the winner today. He still has plenty of time to come at only 2 years old to finish maturing and really drop fully and settle. Pleased to award him a well deserved RBOB.
