A good entry numerically but a variation in type and size. Why have exhibitors started feeding their dogs all the time when the judge is trying to go over them as it makes it difficult to examine the breed features such as head shapes, eyes and teeth etc? I understand the need for treats especially in puppies but don’t do to excess. Several youngsters missed out as couldn’t be assessed properly.

Handsome lad with lovely head and alert expression, good bite and correct ear placement, well balanced all through, good chest and shoulders, tight elbows, holds good topline and tailset, strong second thigh and good hocks, moved with reach and drive and presented in lovely bloom. Was thrilled to hear he won BIS in a quality line up. It’s good to see different gundog breeds taking the top honours as there is quality in some of the less flashy breeds |
