My thanks to the committee for my invite today and the vast majority of exhibitors for their sporting behaviour. It is sad though that an individual can expect to win and when they don’t, make sure everyone knows. However, it didn’t take away from the atmosphere of a lovely day. My other general comment is to remember that these are gundogs and should be fit for purpose. I love a bit of glamour too, but dogs that have too much bone and are rolling with extra weight are not functional, no matter how well they are presented. I really enjoyed my Group judging and the Veteran Stake with some high quality examples of their breed.
Junior Dog or Bitch (3 entries)
1st | Gibson DELPHOX GUISER Well grown dog, 16 months old. Shown in very good coat and condition. Strong bone, slightly sloping pasterns and good feet. Well angled in front but would refer a bit more balance in rear. Heavily feathered tail. |
2nd | Hunt WAKADUZE DOTAME 13 month old bitch, feeling a bit overawed with the occasion but I liked her. Feminine head and expression. Correct size just a little light on bone and needs to strengthen in feet. Just needs time. |
3rd | Last LASTAYLA SUMMER LOVIN |
Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (2 entries)
1st | Middleton ASHTORAZ VALENTINE MIRACLE AW(B) Mature 6 year old, nicely balanced front and rear. Double coat, nice feet, coat and tail. Sweet expression. Handled well. RBOB |

Open Dog or Bitch (4 entries, 1 absent)
1st | McDowell WAKADUZE WAPA Very balanced 7 year old bitch. Head correct with high earset and tight lip, moderate stop. Liked her angulation, good depth through body. Correct weight. Heavily furnished tail, carried well. Moved soundly which gave her the class and BOB. |
2nd | Nevers TOLLELKIN DREAM COVE AT SHELDRAKE JW AW(B) Close up, noted her front, bone and feet. Moved well in profile, but very close going away today |
3rd | Fuard TOLLELKIN BAY OF ICE AW(B) |
