Seems as though the standard of NSDT was strong at this show. Thank you to those who came under me and gave me a headache, in nearly every class.

Special Yearling Dog or Bitch (3 entries)

1stBoyd SKYSARIA ETERNAL FLAME JW
a male of some 19-months, who is showing maturity beyond his age in terms of size and some areas of coat. In profile, correct in head construction showing slight wedge shape and moderate stop. Excellent colouration to the pigmentation of the nasal and ocular regions, very much in keeping with coat. Ample workings below eye that sat on flat cheeks. Loved the expression coming from medium, almond shaped eyes of darker amber. Framed by ears that were alert and set high and well back. Moderate reach of neck that rolled effortlessly into well laid-back shoulders. All putting together a well-constructed front assembly. Depth of chest down to elbow and good spring of ribs at such a young age. Level in topline and moderate tuck up. Had the better rear-end width and angulation in the class showing width to upper thigh and turn at stifle. Best mover in the class, leading to him being the winner of the class. Very sound in all respects, which also meant RBOB.
2ndParker & Hipkiss SKYSARIA BLAZE OF HOPE WITH DELTANDAMBA JW
very happy to find out this was litter mate to 1st, showing very similar attributes. A touch whiter than first, with flash to head furrow down to nose, on chest, feet (not above pasterns) and desired tail tip. Head construction showing wedge shaped head, broad skull, and strength to muzzle. Nose of flesh colour with eye pigment to match. Personally, preferred the expression of this exhibit to that of first. Lovely dark eye, of medium almond shape, with lovely alert expression, which also came from the ear positioning and carriage. Length of neck proportionate to rest of body and of good strength. Just the same as his brother, the neck flowed well into well laid shoulders. Straight in front and brisket down at elbow. Strength over loin, with moderate tuck-up. Gentle slope to croup. Good width to upper and second thigh, but brother had matured here a little quicker. On the move, didn’t quite have the width behind of 1st, but think this could develop with age as a lot of the qualities of the dog point to this. Was true in front on the return and good footfall on the around. Tail carriage was super. Presented very well in lovely coat.
3rdHughes ABACOT HEART OF THE OCEAN
a very honourable mention for this 9-month youngster, who showed a lot of breed type. Lacked the maturity overall of that of the others in the class, but a very promising prospect. Although only puppy present, a very deserved BP and PGR4.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (1 entry)

1stHughes ABACOT INTO THE UNKNOWN JW
although this 4-year-old male stood alone in the class, he was very much worthy of his positioning. A lot to like about this more compact exhibit who showed a great deal of type. Clean in head construction, showing breadth and slightly rounded. Roundness to back of skull. Good rise to stop. Good workings to zygomatic arch and around eyes of almond shape and amber in colour. Pigmentation blended well with coat and matched the eye colour very well. Strength to jaw apparent. Alert in ear carriage that framed the face well indeed. Moderate reach of neck that was well enshrouded in coat. Front construction and angulation very pleasant. Brisket down at elbow. Elbows close to body yet giving enough width to chest for decent frontal movement. Good strength to loin. Width present to upper and second thigh. Good in rear angulation. On the move drove out very well indeed, and super happy to do so, but lost a little in refinement on the move. Strongly considered for RBOB, only just missing out. Presented in quite full, beautiful, darker coat. Super attentive to handler.

Open Dog or Bitch (5 entries)

A very lovely class.

1stWard MELANITTA PALMATA JW
this nearly 7-year-old male was very eye catching instantly on entering the ring. Presented absolutely immaculately. Definitely a male in appearance, without being too strong or overdone. Very attractive in head, that showed lovely construction and proportions. Balance was a good word for this exhibit. That certainly was the case regarding the ratios of head: body. Dark in almond shape eye that was bordered by lighter pigmented membrane. This was a similar shade to the nose. Broad in slightly rounded skull and showing desired slight wedge shape. Flat in cheek and showing some lovely working to zygomatic arch. Correct in ear placement and shape. Strong in neck of medium length that was profusely feathered. This flowed so neatly into muscular shoulders of correct angulation and construction. Strong in straight forelegs, with those slightly sloping pasterns. Depth of chest down to elbow with excellent spring to ribs. Super level topline, that did not waver on the move. Strength seen to loin. Good amount of width to gently sloping croup, with correct tail set. Correct in rear angulation, and width to upper and second thigh. All were in proportion with each other. Well boned throughout. Moved the best of all the NSDTR on the day, showing the soundness of the front and rear construction, as well as the angulation. Very confident in the stack and on the move, with correct tail carriage and action. Held the ring as his own. Really drove out well, with width behind and true on the up and back. Correct foot fall on the around. BOB.
2ndRolf & Parker TOLLPEPPER ECHO'S HOPE FOR SKYSARIA
4.5-year-old bitch that again had a lot to like. Presented beautifully, with a double coat that was very soft indeed. Lighter in colour than that of first, but still very much appealing. Lovely feminine appearance, with gorgeous expression that was used well. Eyes amber in colour that had darker rims, that blended into the coat effortlessly. Very alert and looked ready to work. Clean in feminine, wedge-shaped skull. Stop, apparent. Muscular in medium length neck, which allowed for an easy run into the well laid shoulders. Scapular of moderate length. Good width to the forechest allowing space for her to move well. Again, brisket down to elbow, with good spring to ribs and nice, moderate tuck-up. Loved the strength to loin, without being over the top. Very gentle angulation to croup that had proportional width to rest of the exhibit. Moderate angulation that was needed for this girl. Once you had your hands through her coat, it was obvious she had good width to upper and second thigh. Well bent at stifle. Not a small girl, yet still retained compactness and quality. On the move the tail did not stop in that typical NSDTR action. Didn’t quite move as well as first today, being a little close on the up and back. However, she had true footfall on the around. Another that was really attentive to handler, confident and eager to please.
