The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Club Of UK held a 16 class open Show at Tomlinsons Kennels & Canine Centre, Markfield, with an entry of 67 from 51 dogs, size, type and quality were mixed & it was impossible to have even line ups, but there was a good & friendly atmosphere throughout - the Tollers for most part were happy to join in, even veterans were bouncy and lively clearly enjoying their moment in the ring. Puppies were a bit thin on the ground only 2, a brother and sister. Quite a few, more so the bitches than the dogs were overweight so will have to work on their fitness. Some were slack in topline and a bit long cast, mouths were good as were temperaments. Presentation could have been improved in some, ditto in handling. Two first class stewards kept things flowing & everything was very well organised. I greatly appreciated the opportunity of judging this breed at club level and have come away with many good memories.

Best in Show was Riverwatcher Atka, RBIS was same owner's Riverwatcher Ikkuma, out of the same bitch, Shoredancer Sea Pink Via Riverwatcher, who was also the highest placed female in the strong veteran class, BP went to Camusmor Lika Star, and BV Can/Ir Sh Ch Littleriver's Colonial Boy With Tollyhimmel.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (8 entries, 2 absent)

1^st	Westwood & Johnson CAN/IR SH CH LITTLERIVER'S COLONIAL BOY WITH TOLLYHIMMEL (IMP CAN) 8½ years Dog, good outline and proportions, compact body, clean neckline, well laid shoulders, best mover in the class, at one with his handler, happy showman.
2^nd	Edridge CAMUSMOR BRUICHLADDICH AT TILITA SHCM Nearly 10. Masculine dog, I preferred his head & expression to that of 1st, splendid coat, good bone, strong body, such a happy dog standing & moving. Not going as well in front as 1st but a very healthy & fit looking veteran.
3^rd	Anstead SHOREDANCER SEA PINK VIA RIVERWATCHER Quality bitch of 7 years, just a bit overweight today which didn't help her hind movement but she should be proud of herself for producing the BIS & RBIS winners!

1^st	Macleod & Hussey CAMUSMOR STARGAZER A week from his first birthday, in excellent form, excellent coat, well sprung ribs, typical head & expression, very good mouth & width of underjaw, strong body, bouncy & playful, moved well behind. Having a great time, sensibly handled.

Junior Dog (6 entries, 2 absent)

1^st	Anstead RIVERWATCHER ATKA 13 months, comfortable winner I thought, good head, broad skull, well balanced, well coated and presented, fit & well muscled, ample bone, very good topline & quarters, held his topline on the move which was springy with good rear drive, focused and positive all the way through & really deserved his BIS win.
2^nd	Baker TIVALAKE ON THE TOWN 14 months, once he settled down looked very nice, good feet, expressive eyes giving good expression, neck well set on, firm topline, compact body, good coat, sympathetically handled.
3^rd	Powley CHRILIKAS DUKE OF DANEHAVEN (IMP NOR) 12 months, attractive head, coat not at its best & could carry a little more weight to advantage. Well proportioned, handled sensibly, moved OK, a little upright in shoulder.

1^st	Moult & Savory ACANUCK SOUL REBEL OF CROFTWELL 2yrs. Smart Toller who was an easy class winner here, pleasing head, strong body, deep chest, good bone, easy mover, well coated, no more weight please.
2^nd	Gray SEAHAVEN'S GALACTIC STORM 2yrs, well up to size, masculine head, good coat & condition, well sprung ribs, ample bone, movement behind could be better.

1^st	Harding & Whitehill GLENDERMACKI FOX CRAGG AT BRIZEWOOD 2 yrs. Handsome youngster in excellent form, just the right amount of weight for me, keen intelligent expression, deep chest, strong loins, firm topline, moved & showed with style, well handled.
2^nd	Cox DECOYMANS PIPER DREAMTIME IN ICESTORM 2yrs, delightful character, stood like a statue once he decided to settle down, attractive head, good body, moved well behind but needs to improve in front action.

Limit Dog (4 entries)

1^st	Powley DANEHAVEN SEVERN 7½ yrs, a bit portly today but this did not affect his movement at all, attractive head, lovely eyes, held his topline better than 2nd but it was a close thing, well proportioned, good bone, showed well.
2^nd	Baker ERIKACHEN AONGHUS 4 yrs, good head & expression, excellent bone just standing a little slack in topline when it was make my mind up time here.
3^rd	Holt RIVERWATCHER K'EYUSH WITH MENSTONIA Litter brother to best bitch and like several that I liked by my "Pin Up" boy The Entertainer.

Open Dog (5 entries, 2 absent)

1^st	Powley DANEHAVEN DETROIT Litter brother to RBD and another solid performer, on the plump side but nothing much wrong with his movement, masculine head, compact body, deep chest, ample bone, well proportioned, showed with composure, in the run off for best dog did not go as well as his brother in front.
2^nd	Reader EUSANIT VISIONS OF CHILLBRAV 5½ yrs, easy mover, I'd prefer a stronger head for a male, well conditioned and handled, responded well to his handler at all times, shade long cast.
3^rd	Titovets & Eremin RUS CH DELONGSTAR DIAMOND DREAM

By the third class she knew exactly what she had to do, it was fascinating to watch her being an unruly child to begin with & then suddenly the penny dropped & she became an accomplished showgirl! Well constructed, pleasing head, expressive eyes, compact body, good bone, healthy coat, held her topline on the move – well done.

2^nd	Henson SANWANN KITE Yearling, did not really get her act together here, failed in hind movement, well proportioned head but failed in ear carriage, standing slack in front. Good body, handler not making the most of her charge standing or moving.

Novice Bitch (3 entries)

1^st	Macleod CAMUSMOR LIKA STAR
2^nd	Henson SANWANN HAWK Litter sister to 2nd in junior bitch, good body shape and bone, failed in ear carriage and needs ring training as she was pulling away from her handler when moving, did slightly better when going on a loose lead.
3^rd	Rogers EUSANIT CHASE THE DREAM Feminine bitch but shown rather overweight & appeared a little short on leg.

Graduate Bitch (4 entries, 1 absent)

1^st	Andrews FALLOWFEN FAITHFUL YOKO OF JEMMATEE 20 months, most attractive bitch, expertly handled to look her best, feminine head, good outline and overall proportions, springy movement, willing showgirl, good topline & quarters.
2^nd	Rice FALLOWFEN'S YOKO Litter sister to 1st. Feminine, cooperative showgirl, eager to please, failed in front standing but moved quite well, fit body, good coat but not a lot of it.
3^rd	Rogers EUSANIT CHASE THE DREAM

Post Graduate Bitch (4 entries)

1^st	Anstead RIVERWATCHER IKKUMA 4 yrs, carrying plenty of weight but she was still light on her feet & moved with ease, feminine head & outlook, self confident, very good coat, firm topline & quarters, made the most of herself & showed with composure, deep chest, very well handled.
2^nd	Knowles GLENDERMACKI HOWES CRAGG AMONG MENSTONIA Litter sister to PGD winner & half sister to Ikkuma, pleasing head & expression, good topline but carrying too much weight, willing mover & showgirl, a little upright in shoulder.
3^rd	Powley DANEHAVEN RED ROCK

1^st	Westwood ALLIANCE DE LA VIE SUMMER DREAM TO EUSANIT (IMP NLD) Sure footed 3 yr old who really enjoyed stretching out moving around the ring, good outline, attractive head & expression, deep brisket, held topline well on the move, well muscled.
2^nd	Moult & Savory CORLITGOLD TAHLIA OF CROFTWELL 5 years, very feminine in every way, kind eyes, carrying too much weight, sidegait looked good but hind action could be firmer, coat not good.
