My thanks to the NSDTR Club of UK for the invitation to judge the clubs’ open show, to the exhibitors who greeted my decision with applause and to my two super stewards who kept everything running so smoothly. I had some super dogs to judge and was thrilled with the depth of quality in the breed, it really bodes well for the future.

My Best Dog, Best Special Working and Best in Show was the top drawer Tollelkin Caife Americano SGWC (Elkin), who I was told afterwards is sitting on 2CC’s, surely his third cannot be far away. My Best Bitch and Reserve Best in Show went to Eusanit Ever Fallen in Love (Westwood) who I thought just shone today, I understand she also is a CC winner, and I am sure destined for the upper house.

My Reserve Best Dog was Sh Ch Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine (Barker) who won Puppy Dog under me at his first show in 2018, what a fabulous dog he has turned out to be. My Reserve Best Bitch and Best Veteran Sh Ch Tivalake More Than Wishes (Newson), who had won Best of Breed under me at that same show in 2018. My Best Puppy was the very charming Arelechen Tarry with Me Pray (Davies).

Veteran Dog (3 entries)

1stHipkiss ERIKACHEN O'RUADH FOR DELTANDAMBA JW SHCM SHCEX VW
One who has done well under me in the past and super to see him again today at eight years old. His head is masculine, wedge shaped with a kind eye, ears set on correctly. Good reach of neck into a well assembled front. Stands on strong legs and neat feet. Good depth of chest, elbows close fitting, ribs well sprung through to a firm loin. Well-developed quarters with stifles well bent. Moved out very well with a good action. Just pipped for Best Veteran by the bitch today, but a super chap.
2ndDavies KATMISTSKY'S SOUL DREAM RL6-EX
Well-proportioned head on this seven and half year old, good shape and eye giving a masculine expression, ears well placed. Decent lay back of shoulder, I would like a little more return of forearm. A shade heavy through the neck, body of good proportions, good spring to his ribs. Balanced angles front and rear. Good action in profile but not as tidy as the winner as he came towards me today.

1stPowley CFYRE'S PRANCING ACROSS THE SKY TO DANEHAVEN (IMP CAN)
Lots to like about this young man, very much at the growing stage at the moment and has clearly shot up on leg, but everything is in the right place. Head good, wedge shaped, eyes almond and ears set on correctly. Moderate in neck, well-laid shoulders and decent return of upper arm. Body well made of good proportions and quarters are developing nicely. Moved out well with enthusiasm. Best Puppy Dog.

Junior Dog (5 entries, 1 absent)

1stLam & Leung TOLLISTY OUT TO GET YOU
I liked this youngster, 15 months and very good type about him. His head is wedge shaped and well proportioned; he has a lovely kind eye. Shoulders well set. Stands on good straight legs and elbows close to body. Good depth of chest for his age, a shade long in loin. Well-made quarters with stifles well bent. Moved out very well with a jaunty action to take this class and later postgraduate.
2ndHead SPRITERUFUS TARANTELLA
This chap was just coming up to 18 months old, slightly broader in back skull that the winner and not quite the wedge shape, good eye shape and ears set on well. Good through the neck, shoulders well placed, would like a shade more return of forearm. Legs well boned and good feet. Body well made, ribs have good spring and held his level topline throughout. Quarters developing nicely. Moved well in profile.

1stFincham DANEHAVEN MACDONALDS
This chap did enough to take the class today but needs a bit more confidence to complete the picture. I liked him for type, a bit at the in between stage at the moment and needs to fill his frame. Head is well shaped. Shoulders well laid back and a good return of forearm. Legs have good bone, would like a little less white on them. Ribs well sprung, a shade long in loin. Quarters well developed.
2ndAllen & Larson FERVENT LIDO
This young man was 23 months and he and his handler are still learning their jobs in the show ring but doing a grand job. All the basics are in the right place, pleasing head and expression, neck clean and a good lay back to his shoulders. Needs a bit more body and some practice on the move to get the finesse needed in the ring.

Graduate Dog (9 entries, 2 absent)

1stPalfrey EUSANIT WILD ATLANTIC WAY
Upstanding young man who scored in overall outline and balance with balanced angles front and rear. His head is well proportioned and of a good shape, masculine with well set on ears. Clean in neck into well laid-back shoulders, good return of forearm and standing on good legs. Body well-proportioned and quarters with stifles well bent. Needs to fill his frame which he should do as he matures. Moved out will with good action.

I like this boy for breed type, today he was carrying a shade too much weight. His head is typical and good overall shape. His shoulders are well laid back, he has depth to his chest, a good spring of rib and firm loin. Quarters well developed with stifles well bent. Moved well in profile but was a bit untidy fore and aft.

1stCollins & Powley DANEHAVEN KOVIK
Upstanding chap of heavier build, he has good overall type. Good front assembly, shoulders well laid back and a decent return of upper arm, would like him a little tighter in elbow. Good body proportions, ribs well sprung and firm in loin, held his topline throughout. Quarters well made with well bent stifles. Carries a really full coat which tended to make him look a little heavy, great texture to it. Moved out well with a good action.

What a fabulous class this was, some really super dogs to go over, I was really spoilt for choice. These were my placings on the day, but I can see these boys changing places many times in the future. Thank you for bringing all of them.

1stElkin TOLLELKIN CAIFE AMERICANO SGWC
This boy was right on form today and was everything I was looking for, very smart in outline with a good length of leg and balanced proportions. Masculine in head, good shape and a super expression, well placed ears. Strong in neck, his shoulders are well set. He stands on good legs and tight feet. Good depth to chest and corresponding spring of rib. Well-developed quarters, stifles well bent, and hocks well let down. In super muscular condition, totally fit for function and I was not surprised to see him in the special working class as well. On the move he had super footfall and tail carriage. He covered the ground with ease with that typical jaunty action I was looking for. I was pleased to award him Best Dog and later Best in Show. On this form surely his title cannot be far away.
2ndBarker SH CH EUSANIT SILVR DREAM MACHINE
This young man won the puppy class under me last time and I said then he was very promising and today I could see that he has met that early potential. Now the finished article he has become a very smart dog, full of quality. I liked his overall balance, very together for his age. Well-proportioned head of good wedge shape, pleasing eye shape, well set ears. Strong through the neck, shoulders well placed with good return of upper arm. Body of good proportions, ribs are well sprung. Excellent quarters with a good bend of stifle. Good movement in profile, not quite the rear action of the winner but has good jaunty action on the move, with plenty of drive. He has a super double coat. He pushed the winner all the way, Res Best Dog. It was great to see him again.

1stNewson SH CH TIVALAKE MORE THAN WISHES
Pleased to see this lady again she has done very well under me in the past. She presented with a classic outline. Good overall size and proportions. Head has the typical wedge shape, correct breadth and dark eye that give that appealing expression. Strong through the neck leading into well placed shoulders, standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Correct depth of body, ribs well sprung and strong level top line. Well-developed quarters with moderately bent stifles. Her coat was not at its best but everything else was in the right place. On the move she had good footfall, and excellent drive. In the challenge I couldn’t deny her. Reserve Best Bitch and Best Veteran in Show.
2ndElkin TOLLELKIN WATER DANCER
Another well made bitch that I see is the dam of my BIS winner. A shade longer than the winner, lovely head piece on her. Good front assembly, forelegs strong, good depth to chest and ribs well sprung. Quarters well made with stifles well bent, in firm condition. Had a tendency to drop her topline when stacked but held her shape on the move where she had a good action.

Puppy Bitch (2 entries, 1 absent)

1stDavies ARELECHEN TARRY WITH ME PRAY
Stood alone but a worthy winner, a lovely puppy with lots of bounce and clearly enjoying herself, which was good to see. He head is developing nicely, good wedge shape and ears set on well, should finish a very pretty lady. Clean in neck in to well set shoulders, standing on strong legs and super feet. Body proportions right for her age. Held her topline throughout. Quarters have good angles and a good bend of stifle, needs to develop in quarters which she should do as she matures. Moved out well. Delighted to later make her Best Puppy in Show, good luck with her.

Junior Bitch (3 entries, 1 absent)

Two litter sisters in this class.

1stLashly TOLLISTY BLOW YOUR MIND AT CITANABEL
This lady had a little bit more substance and better angles than her sister today. Head has good wedge shape, I wouldn’t want it any stronger, ears set on correctly. Good through the neck into well set shoulders, good bone and strong legs. Good depth of chest and spring of rib for her age, strong in loin. Quarters are well made, stifles well bent and good hard condition. Moved out well to take the class over her sibling.
2ndSmith TOLLISTY COULDN'T CARELESS
Another typy lady very similar to her sister but a little finer set throughout. I preferred her head to the winner, good wedge shape, eyes almond shaped and ears set on well to give a pretty expression. Good lay-back of shoulder, would like a little more return of forearm. Good legs and tight feet. Body of good proportions, still needs to spring in rib which she will do as she matures. Good quarters on her, well bent stifle. In lovely coat and condition. Although she had good footfall, she lost her shape on the move which gave the class to her sister.

Another lovely type of bitch with a pretty head and expression, wedge shaped, she has a kind eye and well set on ears. Clean in neck, well set shoulders, just would like a tad more upper arm. Still needs to mature up in body, has good body proportions. Back end well made, stifles well bent. She has good legs and tight feet. Moved out well in profile just would like her a little tidier as she came towards me.

Balanced angles front and rear, clean neck in to well set shoulders, good return of upper arm. Standing on strong legs and tight feet. Well made in body, ribs well sprung and strong in loin. Good quarters, stifles well bent. In great coat and condition, super on the move. Considered her for top honours.

A smart bitch who had the cleanest of outlines. She is well portioned, feminine in head and expression with a good eye and ears well placed. Clean in neck, shoulder placement OK, straight legs and neat feet. Good body proportions, a shade long on loin, tail set on well. Quarters well made. Held her topline throughout and moved out well covering the ground effortlessly to take the class. Another who pushed the winner hard.
2ndSmith TIVALAKE ANYTHING GOES AT TOLLISTY JW
This lady was my best puppy last time I judged the breed and super to see how she has developed. He head is feminine, wedge shaped, dark eyes and well set on ears. Good front assembly, shoulder well laid back. Good depth to chest, ribs well sprung. Quarters well made with stifles well bent. Unfortunately, she wasn’t in the best of coats and kept standing short on the stack which impacted on her topline and cost her the class.

A new one on me, loved her shape and size and today she was on form and full of attitude, caught my attention on the first run round. Her head is feminine with a typical wedge shape, good breadth of skull and well set on ears. Has an alert expression. Good front assembly, shoulders well laid and stands on good straight legs and neat feet. Good body proportions, enough depth of chest, level topline. Quarters well made; stifles well bent. Scores in movement with a positive jaunty action. My Best Bitch and later RBIS.

Nice type of bitch, good head shape with a pretty expression. Well up for size and not quite as balanced as the winner. I would have liked a little more substance. Quarters well made. Moved out very well with a jaunty gait.

I loved the comradery in this class it was great to see both the exhibitors and dogs enjoying themselves. Not an easy decision but I thought the winners we evenly matched, two quality dogs, they worked together both on the stack and on the move, where they were the most coordinated.
